The facility has been operating in Donetsk since 1973, caring for children aged 3 to 7. Over more than 40 years, this place has become a true home for thousands of young Donetsk residents deprived of parental care.
Caring for the children at Orphanage No. 1 in the Kuibyshevsky District of Donetsk has remained one of the Corporation’s top priorities in its broad social activities for many years. The business saw its primary mission not only in providing material assistance to the orphanage but also in drawing public attention to the problems faced by orphans and children deprived of parental care. DMS management supported all initiatives by the institution’s staff aimed at improving the children’s living conditions, fostering their intellectual and cultural development, and organizing quality leisure and health programs. An important aspect the Corporation worked on was the effective socialization of the orphanage’s children and efforts to transform society’s perception of this group of children. This vital work was interrupted by the war.
With the start of the occupation of Donetsk, the children of Orphanage No. 1 were illegally taken to various regions of Russia.
