Every year, the DOFRB participates in, independently organizes, and hosts championships in the Donetsk region and across Ukraine, as well as other competitions for juniors, men, and women of various age groups. As members of the national team, DOFRB athletes regularly compete in international tournaments. From the 2006 World Championship alone, representatives of the Donetsk region brought home 5 medals of various ranks. That same year, the DOFRB took 1st place in the team competition at the Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship and won the National Federation Cup.
The Donetsk Regional Federation actively promotes the development of hand-to-hand combat within law enforcement agencies and assists in organizing and conducting competitions, training camps, and seminars. The DOFRB places great emphasis on working with teenagers, especially those from socially vulnerable families. The organization of free training sessions and master classes in shelters and schools, with the sponsorship of the DMS Corporation, gives children the opportunity to grow up strong and healthy, realizing their potential not on the streets but in sports.
Over the course of nearly 10 years, while the DOFRB was able to operate in the Donetsk region and DMS Corporation remained its main partner, numerous competitions—both qualifying and main events—were held.
In particular:
- The Ukrainian Championship in Zhytomyr for adults, featuring 130 athletes from 13 regions, where DFRB representative Olesya Vasilyeva, a hand-to-hand combat coach at School No. 114, became the national champion in the 75 kg weight class in controlled and light-contact categories
- The Ukrainian Championship in Koblevo, where representatives of the DOFRB won 11 gold, 13 silver, and 7 bronze medals
- The Donetsk Oblast Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship, featuring over 150 athletes from all cities in the region, where the victory in the 16–17 age group was claimed by multiple-time world champion in hand-to-hand combat and kickboxing Vitaliy Logvinov, in the 18+ age category and the over 90 kg weight class—European and world medalist in hand-to-hand combat and combat sambo Pavlo Snigur
- Youth Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship featuring 96 athletes in the 14–15 and 18–20 age groups
- The Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship in Dnipropetrovsk, where the Donetsk Oblast team was represented by 9 athletes and finished second in the team standings. In the individual competition, DOFRB athletes won 2 gold medals, a silver in the +85 kg weight class, and a bronze in the 85 kg weight class. The Donetsk Oblast refereeing team was recognized as the best at the championship.
The DOFRB provided young athletes with the opportunity to train in free hand-to-hand combat classes organized in schools in Donetsk and the region, participate in competitions, and advance in this sport to the highest ranks of the podium in Ukraine and the world. Numerous medals served as proof of the quality of the Donetsk school—athletic endurance, determination, willpower, the ability to overcome difficulties, and to conquer the highest peaks.
